Panel Painter Overview

The Panel Painter is designed to enhance the maintenance of CA-IDEAL panels post migration. The utility works using a 'Wizard' paradigm, using screens to define all the necessary details for the panel. These include global variables and dialog boxes for entering parameters for each field.

 
As each field is defined, a graphical representation is shown on the screen. This enables the user to quickly edit fields entered, and gives immediate visual feedback as to the look of the generated panel.

Once the user is satisfied with the screen layout, the corresponding CA-IDEAL code is generated at the click of a button. The generated CA-IDEAL code may be automatically converted to its COBOL or JAVA equivalent.
